We live in a day where we are so connected through digital media, yet people feel more alone than ever. We have replaced real connection with quick interactions that only have fleeting meaningfulness. The problem is not that people lack community. Rather, it is that digital communication is imitating community without actually providing fulfillment. Being surrounded by people online is not the same as being with others in person, and many are starting to feel that gap.
