Selective Outrage: How Communists Worldwide Spread Anti-American Venoms

Global outcry over Trump’s Venezuela operation united the communist parties in democratic nations to launch protests accusing the U.S. of invading for oil — chanting their common slogans against imperialism.

This is nothing new! When the US invaded Afghanistan in 2001 following the 9/11 attacks with the aim of global war against terrorism, in search of world’s most notorious terrorist Osama Bin Laden — leftists still protested. They won’t protest the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan. Even many leftists believe Saddam Hussein was a good human. They protest against Israel but do not protest against Hamas.

Communists are also hardly seen in protest against Islamic radicalization in Iran, but they are against Israel’s existence. In that way – a parallel of thinking between radical Islamism and communism can be traced.

Communists criticize U.S. interference in Iran and helping the Shah dynasty, but they won’t speak loudly for Masha Amini – one of the symbolic rebellions against the Islamic nation.

The communists oppose Iran’s nuclear site being destroyed by the US but since 1990’s Iran has been funding Hamas – and there is no call for it to end.

Communists will stay silent about communist-ruled countries like North Korea, Venezuela under Maduro, and even China and Russia.

U.S. universities tormented with pro-Palestinian protests whereas there was no condemnation against the Hamas-led kidnapping of over 250 people.

This pattern of selective outrage isn’t just anecdotal—it’s a calculated agenda that exposes the rotten core of communist ideology. Take the recent U.S. operation in Venezuela under President Trump, where Maduro was captured amid celebrations by millions of Venezuelans who suffered under his regime. Yet, communist sympathizers in the U.S. and abroad erupted in protests, decrying it as “imperialist aggression” for oil.

In cities like New York, Miami, and even Bengaluru, India, leftists marched with signs like “Hands off Venezuela” while conveniently ignoring the human rights atrocities under Maduro, including widespread poverty, political repression, and forced migration of millions.

Flash back to the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001

Communist groups like A.N.S.W.E.R. organized massive protests against the hunt for Osama bin Laden, framing it as U.S. imperialism rather than justice for 9/11. In Chicago, over 200 people rallied under the Communist Party USA banner to “show solidarity with Afghans” by opposing the war. They chanted against U.S. “war mongers,” but where were their voices when the Taliban harbored terrorists? Or when Soviet forces invaded Afghanistan decades earlier, killing civilians in a brutal occupation? The silence is deafening — communists only protest when America acts.

Communist’s Support for Mass-Killer Saddam Hossain

On Saddam Hussein, leftists protested the 2003 Iraq invasion en masse, portraying it as oil-driven imperialism, but many glossed over his genocidal regime. While Iraqi communists were brutally persecuted by Hussein—thousands executed in anti-communist purges—Western leftists often downplayed his atrocities to bash the U.S. The Iraqi Communist Party itself suffered under Ba’athist rule, yet global protests focused on “No War for Oil” rather than condemning Saddam’s chemical attacks on Kurds or his mass graves. Hypocrisy at its finest: Oppose the liberator, ignore the tyrant.

Double-Standard on Israel and Hamas

The double standard shines brightest on Israel and Hamas. Leftist protests swarm against Israel’s self-defense, but rarely condemn Hamas’ rocket barrages, kidnappings, or use of civilians as shields. In the U.S., far-left Democrats repeatedly vote against pro-Israel legislation, while excusing Hamas as “resistance.” Protesters chant “From the river to the sea,” a call for Israel’s erasure, yet claim moral high ground. Even after Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, western leftists like those in the U.K. and France rallied for “Palestine” without denouncing the terrorists. One Israeli leftist lamented the betrayal: Protests ignore Hamas’s victims because “anti-occupation” means opposing Israel’s existence.

Communists’ silence over Iran Regime

Communists rarely protest Iran’s theocratic radicalization, where women are stoned for defying hijab laws and dissidents executed. They blasted U.S. support for the Shah pre-1979 as “interference,” but stayed silent on the 1988 massacre of thousands of leftists and communists by the Ayatollahs. When Mahsa Amini died in custody in 2022, sparking global women’s rights protests, communists criticized U.S. “meddling” more than Iran’s brutality. Iran’s funding of Hamas since the 1990s? Crickets. Leftists protested U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, but not Tehran’s sponsorship of terror. It’s as if communist ideology mirrors Islamist authoritarianism—both crush dissent while hating the West.

Selective Outrage throughout the World

And the silence on their own? Communists ignore North Korea’s gulags, where millions starve under Kim’s dynasty. Venezuela under Maduro: Economic collapse, human rights abuses, and mass exodus, yet leftists protested U.S. sanctions more than Maduro’s crimes. China’s Uyghur genocide—over a million in camps—draws tepid criticism at best, while the Chinese Communist Party exports censorship and abuses globally. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine? Some leftists blame NATO, echoing Putin’s propaganda. No mass protests from communists against these regimes—only when America intervenes.

This isn’t activism—it’s anti-American venom disguised as justice.

Their selective protests aren’t about human rights; they’re about undermining the West while shielding tyrants who share their totalitarian dreams.
