Traditional religion’s decline in America has caused more issues than simply a lack of stability. Religious literacy being at a decline has caused both religious and non-religious individuals to act in a polarized manner regarding various faiths. Those on the religious side in major religions, such as Christianity, often ignore basic morals or habits of their faith to participate in today’s modernized political system. Those on the non-religious side wrongly accuse those on the religious side who actively follow their faith’s values of being discriminatory, cruel, or outdated due to their lack of literacy regarding the core texts of various religions they point out.
