Recently, anti-male hate has been mistaken for female advocacy. The concept of “angry feminism” has surfaced among younger women as a tool for their empowerment. However, this backfires as it does not actually promote gender equity. Living a life dedicated to putting down the opposite gender is oppressive, regardless of which gender is targeted. Overall, it is an unproductive strategy. Will hating men make them respect women more? We can better promote gender equity by teaching men in our lives to properly respect women, correct bad behaviors and resist gender biases. Also, more women should become “women’s advocates” by ending discrimination, rather than reversing it. They should put time into promoting the prosperity of women in the workplace, the home and the wider society.
