As the 2026 midterm elections approach, Generation Z is becoming an increasingly visible part of the electorate. Many young voters are voting for the first or second time in their lives. New priorities are entering into political conversations about issues such as economic opportunity, climate policy and international conflicts, which are shaping how this generation evaluates candidates. If turnout continues to rise, Gen Z could influence competitive races and shift how campaigns approach younger voters from now on.
