Are Celebrities Making Politics Worse?

The overreliance on pop culture celebrities in shaping political discourse has significantly harmed American politics. Celebrities often feel pressured to promote specific agendas in order to be perceived as more “socially acceptable.” This becomes problematic when impressionable young audiences idolize these celebrities without a solid foundation for the viewpoints they present.

In recent years, many celebrities have leaned to the left politically, arguing that their stance promotes “human rights” and reflects a more ethical approach. However, the question arises: is this truly ethics-based if there is no evidence demonstrating that these views actually contribute to American prosperity?

Rather than focusing solely on what appears ethically sound, the emphasis should shift to what will truly benefit the majority of American citizens and achieve a balance that satisfies both sides. This approach may help reduce media and social polarization.
