The start of the year 2026 for the American public has been marked by the still-evolving situation in the aftermath of the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro. A recent article written by Juan Forero and Ryan Dubé for the Wall Street Journal has brought attention to the deteriorating quality of life in the Republic of Cuba, which is evidently about to be exacerbated due to the U.S. seizure of Venezuelan oil.
