So Long, “ICE Barbie”

Kristi Noem has been fired. I for one won’t miss her.

I think all the “act tough and be sure to share it on social media” stuff was WAY overdone.

It was all theater.

But real lives were impacted by all the cruelty. American citizens, exercising their right to protest, got shot and killed.

Innocent Americans came to live in fear. Some of the deported ended up in horrible jails — or countries they didn’t come from.

Even Trump — who has excellent political antennae when it comes to knowing which way the wind is blowing — knew it had all gone too far.

If the next director of ICE wants to focus on deporting “the worst of the worst,” I would say fine.  That’s how it should have been from the beginning.
