In Donald Trump’s speech last night, he said China hacked 220 million voter records, including names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and party preference.I’ll leave it to the forensic experts to determine if this claim is true, false, likely or unlikely.  But Americans should know this kind of data can be purchased today by any American with a credit card.  There are data brokers who sell information like this all day long for as little as 3 cents per record.This “they’ve got our information” cat has been out of the bag for years. If China could somehow change vote totals inside…

Word has it President Trump will talk about election reform in his speech to the nation tonight.  I sure hope it’s not another rehash of 2020.  I was a poll worker in 2022.  I think asking to see some ID isn’t a big deal — in fact, many voters in my line WANTED to show their IDs, but we were told we couldn’t look. When Lindsey Graham died the other day at age 71, I was shocked to learn he was only 71.  I’m 74, but in my mind, I’m like a teenager compared to Lindsey Graham, Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell, Susan Collins and so many others in the Senate.  Age is partly an attitude; even though Bernie Sanders is 84, he seems much younger than the others I just named.  Joe Biden was clearly WAY past his prime when he thought he could run again; Donald Trump doesn’t seem too far behind at this point.  I hope young people can see big changes…

Donald Trump refused to sign the bipartisan housing bill because he wanted congress to focus on voter fraud, instead.  Maybe the Senate should refuse to approve Todd Blanche as attorney general until he hands over all the Epstein Files.  Fair’s fair. 

Federal agents showed up at reporters’ homes on a Friday night to force testimony about sourcing — over a story about a Qatari jet gift that reportedly wasn’t ready for prime time, with concerns about its security equipment. Sounds like a legitimate story to me. Going after the reporters is a clear First Amendment violation. The Trumpsters just can’t seem to help themselves — they always push too far. Let the press do its job.

I thought Trump was exceedingly bold to go after Iran. Iran has been causing trouble for decades. But then I heard the Trumpsters were surprised that the Iranians were mining the Strait of Hormuz. If true, this reveals massive hubris and incompetence. I’m sure the military anticipated this. They war-game everything. Let’s hope and pray a decision by Trump and Hegseth doesn’t result in excessive American deaths and another “forever war.”

Kristi Noem has been fired. I for one won’t miss her. I think all the “act tough and be sure to share it on social media” stuff was WAY overdone.It was all theater. But real lives were impacted by all the cruelty. American citizens, exercising their right to protest, got shot and killed.Innocent Americans came to live in fear. Whether you like him or loathe him, I think one has to admit Trump put on quite a show at the State of the Union.  Many heroes were recognized, the list of accomplishments was long and impressive. He asked Democrats to stand if they believed protecting Americans was more important than protecting illegal immigrants. I don’t understand why, but the Democrats chose to remain seated. Trump cleverly made the Dems seem, once again, out of touch.  They should have leapt to their feet.  

The FCC is going after Colbert and The View, demanding equal time for  candidates not invited to be interviewed.  OK.  Let’s be sure the same is required of conservative media outlets regulated by the FCC.
