Last week, Jimmy Kimmel’s career took a dive after he wrongfully blamed Republicans for Charlie Kirk’s murder. During his monologue, he said, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.” ABC took swift action, and Kimmel’s show was suspended for four days. Lilly Tino, a self proclaimed trans advocate and TikTokker, is currently in hot water — again — with many calling for her permanent removal and expulsion  from TikTok and all Disney properties.  Despite 27 year old Tino’s original mission to guide the trans community and its allies, she quickly became notorious for her poor representation of the trans community and performative outrage. Society’s ignorance regarding the news cycle — the actual news cycle — is scaring me. The days of being able to trust journalism are gone, leading people to forget staying informed altogether.
