Cancel “Cancel Culture”?

Cancel culture has gone beyond accountability and into silencing individuals. It used to encourage an atmosphere of calling out harmful behavior and demanding change, but has now resulted in people making quick judgments with little context. Instead of encouraging people to learn from their mistakes, cancel culture often shuts them down entirely, deciding their voice no longer matters. While accountability is important, there is a difference between holding someone responsible and completely silencing them. When we lose the ability to have conversations, we also lose the opportunity for real progress.
