Will Writers Go Extinct?

There is no denying that AI has become a significant part of our society over the past ~three years. From students to healthcare professionals to financial investors, it is evident that AI has infiltrated every corner of our lives, and it seems poised to stay. The question I raise is this: What will happen to our writers? In a society that is increasingly moving toward minimizing writing as a career, what will become of those who rely on it for their income? What about those who consider writing an integral part of their identity? If this trend continues unchecked and if machines start to overshadow writers in our society, the quality and content of writing may decline drastically. More and more people are turning to AI for writing samples and new content generated without human input. Writing is inherently a deeply human task. What will our future look like if a purely creative endeavor is dominated by machines instead of people?
