Teachers’ Unions frequently argue that their member teachers are underpaid and overworked, but this is just code for their desire to avoid accountability instead of focusing on success for their students. Progressive states whose school districts have caved into the unions’ demands have regularly seen worsened literacy performance among their students, and this is largely due to tenure or seniority rules that make firing incompetent teachers a bureaucratic nightmare. And these unions use millions of dollars from their donations each year to fund Democratic Party candidates that are keen to continue fulfilling their demands for left-wing indoctrination of our youth. There is no greater bullying in our classrooms than these unions’ diversion from meritocracy, which wastes fortunes of taxpayer funds on systems that fail our students.
